MASTER TONIC FIRE CIDER

This recipe is inspired by renowned herbalist Rosemary Gladstar, founder of the California School of Herbal Studies. This is her original recipe. Fire Cider, but is sometimes referred to as Fire Tonic. It’s a traditional folk remedy of apple cider vinegar infused with any number of immune-supporting herbs and plants. The “fire” comes from the addition of hot chile peppers, which are known to increase circulation and boost (support) the immune system. You can adjust the heat level by adding less or more chile peppers to the recipe.

Feel free to add any immune-supporting ingredients into the fire cider. Get creative and change it up to suit your taste. Fire Cider aids digestion, fights infection, clears the sinuses, among other health benefits.

INGREDIENTS. Organic is best.

Raw Apple Cider Vinegar

Hot Peppers

Onion and Garlic

Ginger Root

Horseradish

Raw Honey (Maple Syrup works well also)

Add other immune system boosting ingredients if you choose like: Rosehips, Thyme, Turmeric, Oregano

DIRECTIONS

Fill a clean mason jar with the chopped prepared ingredients (other than honey). Pour apple cider vinegar into the jar to fully submerge the ingredients. Seal the jar with a plastic lid and let it sit at room temperature (away from the sun) for 2-4 weeks. Longer is better. During this time all of the ingredients will infuse into the apple cider vinegar. After the necessary time has elapsed strain through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl. At this point you can sweeten the fire cider to taste with raw honey (maple syrup) or leave it unsweetened. Transfer the final product into a glass jar or bottle for storage. I transfer mine into small bottles so I can dispense them to my family members when needed.

DOSAGE

Take a shot glass full of fire cider or 1-2 tablespoons daily for a potent punch for the immune system. Increase dosage to 3x daily when sick to help fight off common cold and flu symptoms.

STORAGE

Store your fire cider in a cool dark place away from sunlight. Herbal vinegars should last up to 1 year when stored at room temperature.

REMEMBER TO USE CAUTION. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. CONSULT YOUR MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL IF SYMPTOMS PERSIST.
